Description

Boy howdy, this one is very special to me. I have LONG been wanting - nay, needing! - to add a piece from Mr. Yu to my collection; one of my favorite artists responsible for a nice, long "chunk" of fabulous storytelling on the Bendis run of 'New Avengers'.

Each of the panels is an amazing subject for study, from Ronin's mask to Spider-Man's figure, but for me the top panel is utterly hypnotic; the "metallic" & reflective details on Madame Masque's mask (and her EYES), as well as the manga-like penciling technique used for the "speed lines" of Echo's strike leave me slackjawed. And it's all done in PENCIL...

Nice, and a great description, Jason! Good points on all panels and boy do I dig that last one. I've always loved Yu's black costumed Spidey - a hint of McFarlane yet all his own, and it really stands out in pencil particularly! Congrats!

I love that Spidey kick in the final panel. Yu captured the impact of that kick quite well.
