DescriptionPicking one page. Yikes. What a challenge.September 1964 - Remember when paying 25 cents got you a ton of stuff in these annuals? This one has the Dr Doom origin story, a reprint of FF 5, a rogue's gallery, and a new adventure - the in-space meet-up between Doom and Rama-Tut, when the latter rescues the former. Doom reaches the Latverian embassy and begins formulating a trap. With the FF unaware that Doom is really the ruler of Latveria, he invites them to a party, putting a drug in their drinks to make them see illusions. He tricks each of them into thinking they're being attacked by the others, before they eventually realize his machinations. This page (do I need to say it) has it all. All four of the FF, all powers on display and paired off against one another. Ben calls Johnny "match-head" and Reed gets his often-deserved "Don't you dare 'Honey' me!!" And then Doom skulks into the last panel. This annual came out between issue 30 (the return of Diablo) and 31 (the return of the Mole Man). Social/Sharing |

Like, crazy man! This page really does have it all. "Stop turning invisible when I'm talking to you!" That is CLASSIC.

I agree! And it was hard to not just quote the entire page. "Stop turning invisible..." You can see Lee sitting there, looking at the art he got and running with the dialog.

The only thing missing is a "Why I oughta..."

Says the person with a full on battle page with pseudo-Doom from FF 100 and with the X-Men from FF 28! I'll take that as an expert opinion.

So wonderful to hear from the classic Kirby fans. Regardless of age, we grew up on these pages.
