I commissioned this piece at the 2016 Calgary Expo. Eric had to leave the show early, so he created it at home and sent it to me via his art representative, Jason Schachter, at essentialsequential.com.

One of the great things about Dejah is that she presents a relatively blank canvas. The key elements are well known: an alluring, dark-haired princess; heavy on the jewellery and light on the clothing. But the artist is free to fill in the rest, unconstrained by the expectations that so many other characters are laden with. I knew Eric would do a grand job bringing his unique style to the subject, and this beautiful piece was the result.
