I have long admired Ryan Sook's art, with its clean lines, bold blacks, and creative composition. Here, we have a piece that highlights his mastery of graphite. Fully rendered, with wonderfully nuanced tones, balanced layering, and precise line work, this image perfectly captures the subject's complex and menacing visage. This portrait also happens to be of one of my favourite characters from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
