Description

My pal Shaun Clancy has been requesting a cover recreation of Iron Man #152 for some time. As you may know, that issue, originally published in November 1981, sported one of the 1st photo covers ever done at Marvel. How to do it has always been the problem. Thanks to modern technology, I was able to figure out a way to recreate Eliot R Brown's stunning background photo. Scanning a copy of the comic as a high rez tiff, I took the image into Photoshop and removed all the comic elements. Then, I painstakingly aligned it with the bristol paper and printed it directly onto the board. Finally, I drew the stealth armor figure on that page and sent it to my friend and former Iron Man colorist Bob Sharen. So...never say never, eh?
