A fantastic pinup of the �Trenchcoat Brigade� by the too rare and always impeccable Peter Snejbjerg.

Though I have yet to read this great serie (which is planned), I immediately fell in love with this pin up, especially when I saw the original in glorious b&w. Mr Snejbjerg is a master of blacks and light position and his art really shines in b&w.

Just four standing characters and yet I find this piece to be fantastic.

Mr Snejbjerg really infused each with their own distinct personality. You have the innocent Tim Hunter in skateboard mode, a super creepy Phantom Stranger which is totally in tone with his supernatural essence (those piercing eyes!), it's like he is one with the shadows, Doctor Occult who seems to be the easy going one taking (magical) things as they come and Mr E who is oozing exigence just by standing on his cane. What a set of teachers for poor Tim.

I love that the floor is littered with all kinds of junk which I�m sure makes sense in the context of the serie. Mention to the stuffed Godzilla and the ancient magic tome (it�s obvious but it works). The smoking cigarette gives us a hint that Constantine was also there not too long ago, before stepping in the shadows�

Lastly, you really get a sense that in this illustration, you are on the fringe of the normal and magic world by way of a nasty, shadowy and dirty back alley. None of the characters seems to care but as a reader (of the image) you truly get a sense of dread and uneasiness.

That is all due to the mastery that Snejbjerg has over shadows placement, mood and simply his art.

De-lighted by this one (or should I say de-shadowed? ^^)
