Description

A great Star piece by Erik Larsen. I bought it directly from him when he was a guest at a Belgian festival in 2013.

This piece was part of the who's who/handbook of the marvel universe type pieces that Erik, being the nostalgic fan that he is, had running in the back of the Savage Dragon in the early days of the book. Being a fan of those two books myself, I jumped on those pieces for sale right away while commissioning him ^^

I always liked that character’s design. For one I love full masks characters and second, one of Erik’s many qualities as a creator (on top of pure art, bombastic storytelling and as a writer), is his easiness to create GREAT designs.

What also cemented my appreciation for this character was the fun eponymous mini-series devoted to him that featured great (Jason Pearson-esque) art by the now too rare Ben Herrera.

A great trivia piece to the Savage Dragon lore, still going strong after all these years and a prime vintage Dragon piece by Larsen at the top of his game :)

Star by Erik Larsen! There is no mistaking Eric's style -- he is unique. This is a great character study by an industry legend. Congratulations!
