DescriptionThis was on my grail list. I am a massive Kamala Khan fan and absolutely love Filipe Andrade’s work! This piece is Kamala’s second ever panel and is the first time we experience her powers manifesting. Truly a historically significant key piece.Kamala is truly the first mainstream Muslim Super Hero and loved by fans of all cultural backgrounds. Social/Sharing |

Such an important piece and maybe THE key image in Kamala Khan's history! Love it, Michael. Sincere congrats on picking up this personal grail - no easy task, I'm sure. Making the pick up all the better :)

Not sure I get the historical significance of the page, but I sure do know that those Andrade issues on Cap Marvel are stunning visually

Kamala Khan had a slow teaser introduction into the Marvel Universe. She first appears in a single panel in Captain Marvel 14, though she is not named and appears as an innocent onlooker. Three issues later here in CM17, we see her for the second time, but only her back. The reader is left to wonder who this mysterious new character is and why she has some sort of connection with Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers at the time). This page shows both her powers being portrayed to the reader for the first time as well as her Carol connection. Additionally, the second print cover for CM17 has Kamala in full costume and has become one of the most sought after keys in the modern era. Kamala truly appears in a full story for the first time in All-New Marvel Now! Point One 1. This issue is considered her first full appearance, and we are treated to Kamala in costume, in story, etc. You can see the first two Kamala pages from this issue in my Kamala gallery here on CAF, drawn by the incredible Adrian Alphona.
