Incredible! From 1942, these are illustrations from a instruction book on judo an jiu-jitsu,by Maurice van Nieuwenhuizen. He was the inspiration for Dick Bos, a very popular tough guy created by Alfred Mazure in the Netherlands during World War II. Publication ceased when the Nazis wanted to turn Dick Bos into an SS-officer and Mazure refused.

Nearly all art of Dick Bos resides with the University of Amsterdam, so next to nothing is available on the market. Thank you Hans!
