DescriptionFairy Quest was a 2012 Kickstarted comic that was then distributed by Boom!. Written by Paul Jenkins and drawn by Humberto Ramos, it tells the story of a land where all the principals of all fairy tales live. It's ruled by one Mr. Grimm who requires that all of the characters stay in their lane. If anyone doesn't follow the script entirely, they run through the "Mind Eraser" and start over in the role. It's quite unplesant. Issues 1 and 2 introduce us to all of the above and Red Riding Hood and her friend Woof, the wolf. They decide to leave for "the real world" though they don't know where it is, how to get there, or even what it means.I like this kind of story and there are lots of them. If you'd like read a really good review, click here to read the one on multiversitycomics.com. A trade of the first two issues is available. But that's the problem. There were only two issues. I waited a long time for the rest of the story before I gave up and filed the issues away never to be found again (bad filing system). I gave up hope. Then two things happened. First, the NYCC charity auction featured two pages from FQ #2. Second, Paul and Humberto have a new (as of this writing) Kickstarter for issue #3 with a different artist, Mike Bowden. Clearly, this was an omen and I needed to bid on the FQ page in the auction. I did and I won it! On this page Red Riding Hood and Woof the wolf are confronted by one of Mr. Grimm's assistants. The two are about to have a huge disagreement. Social/Sharing |

I really love these books as well! The art in the second one tops the first which is hard to do because the first one was fantastic. I saw the auctions as well but held off. Glad this one landed with you in your amazing collection. Good to hear there might be a third book. I'll be sad if it doesn't have Humberto's art though. He is perfect for these stories!
