Comics were about to change forever, as the very next page would see the first appearance of Dark Phoenix. And this page gives us the last phase of Jean Grey's transition. At the start of the page she is reeling and confused, by the end of it a word balloon with her chilling new voice tells us something terrible has happened. You can see why Chris Claremont has held onto this page until now!
