DescriptionAzzarello and Risso crushed it on Batman when they collaborated on Broken City. So I was excited to see them return to the character, even if it was for a larger Flashpoint story I had zero interest in.What they delivered over the course of three tight issues was a crushing elseworlds-like tale rich in twists and sadness. And while there are many great moments and pages throughout, for me, this three page sequence is storytelling perfection. That last panel is soooooooo good. I've always been drawn to artists who use a lot of ink and spot heavy blacks, and this is a perfect example of less being more. Social/Sharing |
