DescriptionManny Stallman: First Romance #45 Complete 5-page Story "Happy Ending" (Harvey, 1957). The Comics Code had this Manny Stallman melodrama reworked completely. Some of the dialogue corrections have slipped off the pages and the plot changes are mind-blowing! Proof-positive it wasn't just the horror yarns that the Code squashed. The image area of each page is 12" x 18", and aside from the Code changes, the art is in very good condition.Shown here is the story in 2 versions; pre-code and post-code. The "Temptress" splash was reconstructed BEFORE I received the scan of the published page from Ben Samuels. I held the artwork towards a strong light and drew what I felt it must have looked like before the large figure was covered in ink. Far from perfect but reasonably close.
