Hellboy The Return of Effie Kolb 2 page 9 by Zach Howard

This is the second page of the 2 issues mini drawn by Zach Howard that I bought. I wanted a page of the second issue after having missed on the first and ended up buying two.

The main attraction for me was the 4rth panel with a great Hellboy shot (and his right hand of doom) ripping the picture up.

The following one that features bits of scenery with the old manor and bits of nature whose depiction by Zach really impressed me on those two issues, sometime detailed to a fault but it works for me.

The last panel is quite dramatic. Hellboy ripping that picture up clearly had some consequence on the “villain” of the story. Let’s find out why with Hellboy and turn the page, why don’t we?

I will end by saying that no offence to the (always great) colors by Dave Stewart but Zach Howard’s art works so well in glorious b&w that it really pops in person. And even though I would probably say that about the majority of b&w art, his art should/could really be published in that state.
