Description

OK, so Ben Franklin once said, "failing to prepare is preparing to fail". A friend of mine was going after the Sub-Mariner #67, so I wasn't going to go after it. But there are only 6 covers, and they are near impossible to get. So my fail safe was to buy Sub-Mariner #68 by John Romita Sr. from Glen Brunswick because I wasn't going to go up against a friend and wanted Subby in the black costume. Then my bud mentioned that he got something else and was not going after it anymore. So, then I went for it. Now I have #67 and #68. This is one time I was overly prepared I guess.

Namor returns to his underworld realm to find it devastated in the wake of the nerve gas contamination; Fortunately, his subjects are just in a comatose state and amphibian scientists are eager to help them; Namor takes the scientists to Dr. Hydro's island base and then seeks out Dr. Walthers who has been working on a force field device that can protect Atlantis from any other nerve gas contamination; However, the costumed villain Force stands in his way. Namor drives him off and continues his search for Dr. Walthers; Cameos by the Inhumans, the Fantastic Four, and Spider-Man. A note from Roy Thomas and Steve Gerber explaining a printing error on 50,000 copies of Sub-Mariner #68.
