DescriptionI can't believe it! I was so happy to win #4 last auction, and couldn't believe the #2 was up for this auction. Was very lucky in getting it.Dr. Stephen Strange, Clea, Dormammu, Shazana, and the Mindless Ones are featured on this beautiful, Ditko-esque wraparound cover for the reprint series. Byrne provided the covers for all four issues of the title, making this a rare piece of published Byrne Doctor Strange art (he never penciled a Doctor Strange series or solo-story, and he rarely drew the character outside of cameo appearances or group shots). Wow! Mindblowing wraparound cover to Doctor Strange Classics! John Bryne must have channeled Steve Ditko when he drew this cover. I love the mix of images he brought together, from the close-up of Clea's face to the ghostly silhouette of Stephen Strange floating over the city. He also included vignettes of Strange battling the Mindless Ones, confronting Shazana and even a small shot of Dormammu with his flaming head! So many images and yet Byrne pulled them all together with seeming ease. What a classic Doctor Strange cover!
