Six 14.25x22.5" Strathmore artboards have pen and ink original art for six-page story by Jim McArdle for Gang World #5, published by Standard Magazines May 1952. Complete art for "On The Lam!" story in which the Riorden Mob is busted by the police during a highway hijacking, during which Barney Riorden shoots and kills an undercover policeman. After he's sentenced to death, his gang hides out and plots a brazen jailbreak. They escape to a motel run by a fellow criminal Harry and his fianc�e Nora, both of whom are out on parole. Riorden falls for Nora and ends up killing Harry. In retaliation, Nora calls the police which results in a shootout and Riorden is killed. Captions and word balloons have a few aged paste-overs. Artboards have scattered handwritten editorial notations in margins and each has "Standard" stamp at top margin. First and fourth artboard have two hole punches along center left margin. Margins have some scattered aging/dust soiling and are Fine overall while art remains clean and VF to Exc. Dan Makara Collection.
