My commission request to Brendon and Brian:

I'd like an 11x17 issue 2 cover for my imaginary comic book, "Heroes of The Serials," a follow-up to the brilliant and popular (on CAF) 1st issue cover you drew for me many moons ago, with the same logo, the 15 cents price, the 100 pages blurb. The only difference there is that issue 1 becomes issue 2.

The cover would be a celebration of the Kirk Alyn serial versions of Superman and Blackhawk, and the story referred to in the cover text is about the identical appearances (and possible linked heritage!) of the two heroes from two different worlds. (Jor-El must've gotten around!)

We can figure the story takes place around 1950, within the ballpark of years that Kirk Alyn portrayed both characters. While DC didn't own Blackhawk until later in the decade, let's assume that DC and Quality struck a deal for the crossover.

I'd like a dizzying aerial scene with Blackhawk standing on and flying on a one-man helicopter (see reference - please feel free to redesign the helicopter to look more like a Blackhawk vehicle) and Superman flying out at the viewer on the other side of Blackhawk. As for the background, I'd like the heroes setting out on a mission from early 1950's Metropolis.

The text on the cover should say:

Superman and Blackhawk in "The Mystery of The Lookalike Heroes," a 12-part novel based on the smash serial that stars Kirk Alyn in a dual role!

Cool idea. Crazy to believe Blackhawk is such a small part of comics these days.
