Description

In my new found love of coming up with homage ideas for Lady Death commissions to collect, this one came about from a Michael Turner print that I owned and had hanging on my walls for many years. And when I was deciding on who to commission with this layout, it was easy to choose Diego Bernard since he's the current Lady Death interior artist for all of Coffin Comics main story releases. So, while there are plenty of Lady Death artists who would have done this Turner layout justice, I really felt that Diego's art style could greatly honor Michael Turner's Aspen Mathew's composition when mixing LD's design of blood, rock 'n roll, and hot chicks with a complicated juxtaposition of characters and backgrounds =)

Back in July of 2020, I talked to Bernard's art handler, Court Gebeau, through his website, and everything was very easy to negotiate. I sent my ideas to Court, he then had Diego send me back some prelim sketches to go over, and we were all set. The only drawback I can really think of is that Diego is based out of South America, and the wait for shipping is long on top of waiting for him to find the time to draw these kinds of commissions (in between him catching up with his regular stuff for Coffin Comics, I imagine). But once I got my piece in hand, I easily came to find that the wait was well worth it.
