DescriptionGorgeous illustration from artist extraordinaire Wladyslaw Benda, one of the top illustrators of the Golden Age. Benda has quickly become one of my favorite artists, and this piece shows you why. Beautiful, charming, subtle, and mysterious (what is the story behind the child in the corner staring out at us??). Art is rendered in charcoal, one of Benda’s favorite mediums. Large art - 19” x 16”. Most of Benda’s originals were destroyed in a fire in the early 1930s, so I feel incredibly lucky to now own two great examples. Haven’t yet found where this was published, but the hunt is on!Social/Sharing |
