Description
Nova tries to convince The Watcher to let him know if his father is still alive. Again, stories relating to deep emotional bonds speak to me.

Jim Cheung was never on my radar but I went on a buying frenzy when I started the hobby and his stuff reminded me of Olivier Coipel (who is one of my favourites) so I picked up this piece. I've since gained a lot of appreciation for his work.

Purchased directly from Jim Cheung via his Big Cartel site.

Beautiful page.  The truest test of any artist is the dreaded “talking head” page...  Some artists struggle with it, and others just kill it.  Mr. Cheung is in the latter camp, as you show here.  Sublime inking choices (as per usual with Mr. Morales) showcase the emotions here and don’t clutter the page with a lot of (what would be beautiful, undoubtedly, but unnecessary as far as storytelling goes) detail.  I really love the subtlety and restraint here, and I can’t see how there could have been any “truer” or more beautiful version of this page in any stage of production (pencils only, coloring pass, colors and letters, published).  Awesome pick up!
