DescriptionBeen a fan of Mike Allred ever since discovering the comic in the early 90s. Got to meet him personally at a convention soon after that - and have been a fan ever since. This is a fun cover to the Graffiti collected stories book. A widescreen edition you might say. Besides the design of the character, what always appealed to me was the zany nature of the stories and characters.Social/Sharing |

I really like this cover! Also, knowing your humor, I know why you had to grab it too! Congrats!

It's funny, I always really liked the Madman character design and Alled's style seemed so perfectly suited for this independant creation, yet I was never drawn in enoughby the concept to actually try reading it. Then when I see cool looking pieces like this, it reminds me I need to give the book a try. Great looking piece, congrats!

I first started with Dark Horse's Madman Comics back in 1994. If you decide to read it, just keep in mind the historical context of what was being put out by the Big Two at the time. As you know it was dark and gritty. Superman died. Batman was paralyzed. Madman was breath of fresh air and palate cleanser from all that.

So glad you can enlarge this image, because there is SO MUCH going on. It's complete zaniness, complete with a hot girl with popcorn, and I love it!

Early 90's Allred is my favorite! I remember this book well. This is all you could ever ask for in a Madman piece too! Huge congrats!

Oh my congratulations! I didn't know this went into your collection but I'm glad it. This is a very unique Madman piece with all the elements you'd come to expect from Mike's creation.

Great layout, and a stellar example of Allred's work. Love the little detail of the edge of the filmstrip projected onto Madman.
