Magnificent presence + composition.  It's official... John C has a monopoly on Micronauts.

How can such itty bitty things contain so much awesome? And you better watch out what you say about the Baron's wife...he might "Sonic" you. :KnowingWink&Nod: Very cool cover by Dunbar. It must've taken forever to do each of those little shading lines. John Buscema used a similar technique in the title splash of Silver Surfer 1. Nice snag! Big congrats!

I'd really prefer to see Baron Karza in hi original outfit rather than whatever you call this "new armor over bathrobes" look, but that aside, I just have to commend the artist for putting his heart into that background, and then crucify the moron pretending to be an editor and for either demanding the penciller color it that way or at the very least accepting what the colorist handed in. As an artist, it's is an absolute gut punch to spend that much time creating a beautifully intricate background, only to have the colorist wipe it out completely with 2 clicks of a button.

Man, those lines in the background - some faithful dedication there.  Take a note, Shazraella.  Congrats, John!

This is a really nice cover and I think the "minimal" background makes all the difference. If only more modern cover artists would practice this!

At the risk of sounding silly:  the background makes it.
