Errol McCarthy is an artist/illustrator noted for his work on Peterson Publishing titles Hot Rod Cartoons, CARtoons and Cycletoons as well as for his later work on popular toylines like Hot Wheels and Masters of the Universe. Offered here are three approx. 11.75x17.75" duotone artboards w/pen and ink/inkwash original art for three-page story from issue of Peterson Publishing's CARtoons, 1970s. Story involves car-obsessed metropolis of Carnania and the constant need to outdo each other when it comes to cars. Of note, first splash panel shows busy future highway system w/Oscar Meyer Weinermobile and copious advertising. McCarthy has signed at top left of this panel. Bottom of each artboard has "Peterson - Cartoons" inkstamp and inked page number. Art remains clean and Exc. Last artboard has attached stiff paper overlay. Errol McCarthy Collection.
