DescriptionIt's week two of cover month here at Shemp's gallery. For the month of May I will post 5 new covers, one each sunday. From 1991! We have this doozy(watching too much dueling dealers)of a cover. This one has it all folks. The Titans and Deathstroke versus the Wildebeest Society! Plus you have the classic Titans Tower in the background. Part of the "Titans Hunt" storyline that ran through issues #71-86. Just a tremendous cover by Tom Grummett and Al Vey. These covers, from this storyline, don't change hands very often. Covers from the 90"s are exploding and very hard to come by. Okay enough of that. I loved the Titans Hunt storyline, it brought a new energy to the Titans title. I waited with bated breath each new issue. I thought it was great, the mixing of the old titans and the introduction of new characters. While I didn't like the conclusion the journey there was thrilling and exciting! Tom Grummett hits the sweet spot in my comic reading days. He started on Titans went to Superman and then went on and did Robin and Superboy. I read them all. I have representative pieces from all his other tiles, and I do have an earlier Titans cover and other Titans pieces, but I always wanted a Titans Hunt cover. Glad to have found this one. The Titans Tower destroyed, Nightwing and Deathstroke fighting together and two new Titans on the cover. The perfect Titans Hunt cover representing the changing of the status quo. From 1991 The New Titans #76 by Tom Grummett and Al Vey. Peronal Notes: 1) What happened to Al Vey? I enjoyed his inks over Tom and didn't see much of him afterwards. 2) I'm breaking my own personal rule about posting art that's already on CAF. I try not to repost art that's already up in someone else's gallery, even though I am the current owner. I feel there is no need for art to be posted twice. However I committed to posting this one up and didn't have a back up ready. Maybe I'll reevaluate my rule, it doesn't seem like a big deal but it irks me. Social/Sharing |

BRILLIANT! OF COURSE you were the one to buy it from the previous owner! I also really hate it when previous owners refuse to remove the art they sell me from their galleries. But you know what, we can't let them take the joy of posting it ourselves away from us. The nice thing is that most people won't even notice, because people tend to notice the scan in the gallery of the collector who is more active anyway. Just enjoy it, and thanks for sharing it!

Wildebeests invade Titans Tower? Deathstroke fighting alongside the Titans? All out action? Grummett and Vey all the way! That cover colorist must have been put in a tough position.
