The background and foreground tree shadows frame the Black Panther figure to stand out in the composition. Very well designed to get the adrenaline pumping for what's next with this slick splash page!

Absolutely gorgeous work, Mark (and Ed)! It's got that clear, killer McGuinness layout and the impeccable rendering muscle of Morales - one of my favorite one-two punches in comics. :) Thanks for showing us the original here!
