10x13.5" thick artboard has mixed media original art by prolific and renowned Spanish Marvel Comics cover artist Rafael López Espí. Cover is for Kazar #5, which reprints Ka-Zar The Savage Vol. 1 #10 and #11 (cover story blurb translates to "Hell!") and was published in Spain by Mundi/Linea Surco in 1983, ©1981 Marvel Comics Group. Artboard has been hand-painted from edge to edge w/art showing Kazar, very different from Marvel's cover art by Brent Anderson. Espí's interpretation was inspired by the title page of issue #11 and some of the following creature panels. Back of artboard has handwritten "Kazar" at top in pencil. Artboard remains bright, clean and Exc. A wonderful example from the era when Espí's art dominated covers of Spanish Marvel comic books, featuring one of Marvel's classic characters and is unsigned by artist. Superb and dynamic cover art. Comes w/reading copy of the Spanish comic this cover art was created for.
