Description

Two of my favorite current series collide in this epic cover by Artist Martin Simmonds (Department of Truth) and Writer Ram V (Laila Starr). Issue 5 is still way too far away but you know it's going to be great. And I was really taken with this image when I first saw it, and immediately had a vision for it. I was lucky enough to acquire it (thanks Cadence!) and it's at the framer already. If you're not reading this series I can highly recommend it, and credit must also be give to Filipe Andrade as a co-creator and for creating interior artwork that works so harmoniously with the script.

The scan does not do the image justice unfortunately - Martin has used his traditional mixed media to give the figure a lot of weight, and he's heightened the tension with that weight by using gold paint under the flowers. Really beautiful in person.

Laila Starr is a spectacular book. When I saw this sold so fast I thought 'I bet that was Mikail' - ha! Hope you post it when framed, I'd love to see it.
