Description

Robin is trying to get up into Batman's business and the Dark Knight is having none of it! All in all a rather great example of Scott McDaniel's art; I especially love how he captures the folds in Batman's cape! In my opinion, McDaniel exudes a certain flavor that I just can't get enough of. While I might not have much of his work, tho I'm always on the hunt for some of his Nightwing covers (hint, hint), I'm forever looking for opportunities to add his pieces, big, small, and everything in between, to my collection!

Additionally, and I guess this is the P.S. section of this write-up, while I haven't read Batman #600, as I wasn't reading Batman at the time, if anybody WAS reading it, please share whatever memories you have of the book! Folks are starting to comment on my posts about the comings and goings within the comic industry at the time of a particular page, a series' hype or sometimes lack thereof, the history (both theirs and that of the book), and I like it! Share away!

I love this page - McDaniel was never better (and he's always great). This issue was the kickoff of the Bruce Wayne: Fugitive story. Brubaker and Rucka were the writers of the main Batman books at the time, and I for one really enjoyed what they were doing (and the critics at the time seemed to agree). These issues (and really the whole post-No Man's Land era that kicked off in 2000 and lasted into 2003) were a lot of fun and worth checking out when you have the time.
