REMEMBERING YVONNE CRAIG - THE ORIGINAL BATGIRL!

I met the lovely Yvonne Craig (May 16, 1937 - August 17, 2015) at the Wonder Con., which was held at the Oakland, CA Convention Center in April of 2000. Yvonne portrayed the beautiful and sexy Batgirl (Barbara Gordon) on the famous Batman TV show during its third and final year of production in 1967-1968. She quickly became and remains a fan favorite to this very day.

Since the show was much smaller and more personal back at that time, I spent an hour or so talking with Yvonne and getting some photos personalized and signed by her. I really cannot say enough about this wonderful lady. She was gracious, intelligent, insightful and generous with her time. Very engaging in conversation and, quite simply, a pure delight meet and talk with. She possessed that rare talent of making you feel welcomed and special. She was not just classy, but GENUINE! I remember her telling me that after the con, she and her friend were going to spend the next week traveling at an easy pace down the California coast, antiquing at the various small towns.
