Description

While I collect select artists deeply, I also seek to have at least one example of the 'best' artists. I didn't have a Bruce Timm example and was able to fill this hole in my collection as part of a trade - Thanks Peter!

This is the DC character - Lashina, image area 4 x 8 inches

I don't know the year but the art was purchased from Albert Moy ~ 2005

When you consider that a single studio can employ dozens (or even hundreds) of animators, it might seem like they were a dime a dozen. But in every field, there are those who stand out. The cream of the crop. True masters of their craft. Obviously Bruce falls into that group. When it comes to form and figure, his work is unmistakable. In that sense, every piece is a signature piece. Congratulations on this fine example.

It's pretty rare since Timm would have done this character mainly as part of her appearance in New Gods / Apokolips episodes of Superman Animated series or a design for related material. You don't see him draw this character much for other purposes.

Hit me with your best shot. Timm's work is just so awesome. He can make any simple rendering something special, like here. A simple pose with such strong choices. Just her holding that lash in two hands conveys the confidence you want to see. And Lashina is such a great character. I'm hoping to get the right Timm someday, too. Nice score. Congrats!

Awesome Timm pinup! As strong as it is simple. No histrionics in the pose or experssoin but so much attitude. The design, of course, is right on the money
