Description

Due to COVID's impact on comic conventions, Bo Hampton offered a special via social media for head sketches of any two characters with a purchase of his prints (which are gorgeous, check them out on his website). As a long-time fan of his fantasy illusteation I requested two characters included in the prints offered, although they exist in separate "universes": The Phantom (aka "The Ghost Who Walks") and a banth, the lion-like creatures on Edgar Rice Burroughs' Barsoom. I would like to see them encounter each other in a jungle setting, possibly as allies. I also have been looking for a suitable image to use for a tattoo pattern, and Mr. Hampton provided this wonderful sketch in response.

Looks like he used different types of marker/ink on this one. It turned out great with how each element has its own texture and feel. Hampton gives a life to all of these characters.
