POWERS OF X #1

It really doesn't get any better than this!

I had been swapping messages with RB ever since I first saw this back in 2019 but back then he wasn't selling digital originals. So I was absolutely delighted when just recently this became available. Well worth the wait. Thanks RB, and thanks also to Nicholas at Chiaroscuro Studios. An awesome addition to my collection and my Gallery of X!

HOXPOX was 12 weeks we'll never forget and nothing has been the same since! You may remember that about a week after the release of the official solicitation (copy below), under the headline "A Look Inside House Of X and Powers Of X – Fear The Future?" Bleeding Cool had another HOXPOX scoop, this time stunning artwork from the pages of HOX#1 and POX#1, and a new ad for Powers of X using this cover, but this time including a new strapline not present on the solicitations: FEAR THE FUTURE. Bleeding Cool's Rich Johnston commented, "Fear the Future? What future is there to fear?" (Bleeding Cool, 24 April 2019)

This cover was also very prominently featured in the opening of Marvel's trailer for HOXPOX - see Additional Images - which also included interviews with Head of X Jonathan Hickman, Marvel's Senior X-Men Editor Jordan D. White and Marvel Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski.

As we all know, later this month "Inferno" is coming, Hickman's last gig (for now) as an X-Men writer. I'll be sad to see him go but he's left the X-Line of comics in good hands and following yesterday's announcement about "X Lives of Wolverine" and "X Deaths of Wolverine" with a great team of Benjamin Percy, Joshua Cassara and Federico Vicentini, I'm really looking forward to January 2022 and finding out what Marvel meant when they said this will test ‘the best there is at what he does’ before any mutant can survive to the Second Krakoan Age!
