Description

Twice-up page 14.25x21-1/8" featuring Captain Marvel Jr. rescuing survivors from a ship wreck and looking into a robbery aboard the downed vessel. Captain Marvel Jr. also discovers the lighthouse beacon is out. He will learn the evil Mancat is to blame a few pages later.

Wonderful Golden Age page by Bill Ward who is perhaps most famous for his "Good Girl" art and creating the character Torchy. Here he proves equally adept at drawing superheroes. I dig all the detailed crosshatching throughout the page and Captain Marvel Jr. appears in every panel.

The 9 panel layout is neat and adjusting the heights of four and seven is a fun change of pace. The only fault would be making a showcase panel the smallest.
