Don't forget the conspiracy nut taxi driver!  Hell hath no fury Like a Janey scorned!  Part one of the plan to get Dr. Manhattan off world.  Gibbon's art excels here with opening the nine panel grid for Laurie to leave Dr. Manhattan.

Great page featuring a classic Moore device - using the dialogue to tell two stories at once. Also a pivotal moment in the book as Lauri's departure sets the stage for Dr Manhattans departure (that top right panel was repeated several times in the book), nudging the doomsday clock that much closer to midnight. Congrats on a piece of history!

How far this has traveled - I picked this up over 20 years ago in London at the store which originally sold these pages and brought it back to the US. Was around $350 back then. Let go of it because I wanted one that was a little more PG.  Glad you can now enjoy it.

I tell you true, Kit, nothing excites me so much these days as seeing your name pop up on the top of my watched gallery list...  Kit has an update!!

But even with the incredible precedent you had set with the pieces you have recently posted, I was NOT prepared when I saw this.  Are you kidding me?!!?  A Watchmen page opens you up to a whole new level of praise (and takes your already amazing collection even higher).  Rarified air, my friend.

As Marcus points out, any deviation from the nine panel grid in Watchmen demands attention, and (out of curiosity) I just looked up the Morse code for dot-dash-dot, dash-dot-dash (small panel-large panel-small panel, large panel-small panel-large panel) and came up with "R K".  If you break that top tier down into a three panel tier (because of Laurie's doorway / panel within a panel), you get dot-dot-dot, dot-dash-dot, dash (which looks to translate to 'S', 'R', 'T').  You could also break it up differently (dot-dot-dot-dot, dash-dot-dash) and get 'H', 'K'.  So I'm afraid there's no two ways about it: Squid communication, and Alan and Dave were obviously passing messages along.  Sorry, New York!

(but, still, apart from that - cool page ;) MEGA-squidworthy congrats, my friend.)
