Description

This cover brings back warm and happy memories for me - a great reminder of the excitement that the Punisher was getting his own book and that Klaus Janson would draw and ink it. Published one month before the ongoing series debuted in 1987, this cover illustrates well what is to expect - a big Punisher, big guns, and a story arc of him punishing people in the streets of NYC to jungle of Bolivia.

Punisher paddles Forbush Man in issue 3?

Janson buffs up the Punisher considerably as 1987 saw the beginning of bodybuilder types in sports and entertainment.

Love this stocky Punisher! Named Castle and BUILT like one. Looks like hes been crossing universes for hunting and eating Kryptonians! Congrats!

Whatever happened to the last son of Krypton? Frank hunted him down and ate him, though surely he would show loyalty and eat all the Marvel heroes first? I have a fondness for stocky Frank as drawn by Klaus.
