have been a tim sale fan ever since batman: the long halloween and batman: dark victory. his catwoman is just beautiful. when she had her own series by the duo of loeb & sale, i was looking forward to it. i came across the cover for issue 2 at a convention and just had to pick it up. the storytelling within one image is striking. from the graphic design quality to the narrative. even tho selina kyle is blocked in by 3 looming oppressive figures, we see that she is not helpless when your eyes travel down and note that her claws are ready for battle. also, love how sale pays homage to the great italian fashion illustrator- rene gruau. google his fashion images and you'll see a familiar composition. tim sale 'borrows' it but makes it his own story.

Wow! You are absolutely right about the design work. The threat of that gun becomes so much more imposing with all that blank space. And I love the cat peeking out at the bottom. Just a great, great, cover!
