Description

I remember picking up this issue new at a flea market at my closest Mall. When I was in High School, Malls were closed on Sundays. The Mall that I lived close to had a flea market in the hallways. One person had comic books (old and new). Every Sunday, I would gather with a few friends and make my way to the Mall. I was always looking for the latest issue of The Warlord! Grell would make them stand out!
This is also the place where I bought the Wolverine mini by Claremont and Miller. Camelot 3000 by Barr and Bolland. Vigilante by Wolfman and Pollard. Omega Men by Slifer and Giffen. Just some of the covers I remember vividly while looking through the new comic bin.
I also remember that I couldn't afford the old X-men as they were expensive ($3 a comic!....compared to the $1 for most others! New issues were 60 to 75 cents!). This made me start collecting the new issues of X-Men because of just the prices and collectibility!
I couldn't wait to get home to start reading those new issues that I had picked up for that week. The anticipation of what adventure I would experience was something I will never forget.
I always left The Warlord to the end. I was never disappointed!

You picked all the hot quality titles that all audiences liked. Even though some of the old masters were overlooked, it was the reality of what were the most influential to the younger audiences. Grell's artwork is truly outstanding with exciting cover design and highly detailed linework.
