DescriptionI have such a soft spot for Staton's Huntress. Even as he tried to adjust his style to fit the moment, this page still reflects Staton's layouts and motion. Nice Batman panels too.The page is on the larger side and on special paper which gives it that unique look. Mist likely someone more knowledgeable than me will share more about the paper on the comments. Another great purchase from Dueling Dealers via Comic Art Live's YouTube channel. Social/Sharing |

Great page Chris!
It's done on Craftint (duotone) paper. The artist used a chemical to produce the shading, resulting in a printed pointillism-type effect. Very cool!

A great duo tone piece! Between this and the screentone Spectre page, you are getting an education on how they used to create these special effects for publication. These days, it can be achieved by computer.

So true, Marcus. LIttle is as educational as holding these originals in your hands and seeing all of the techniques. A close second is listening to you and others via Comic Art Live explain everything to us novices.

Well, for this kind of duo tone board they stopped making it well before computers took over that effect because the chemicals could make people sick if they handled it constantly. Some art dealers have to wear gloves to handle a volume of these boards.
