Description

Incredible page that features a drawn in the top panel that looks like Marie Severin worked on it. Great thing is that Gene Colan's initial art is still underneath and looks pretty cool under a light source, however, the paste in is just magnificent.
Can it be that Bill Everett did it? Probably not.
Powerful last panel, too.

Subbed in Subby sure looks regal and elegant. The rest of the Colan page has the great atmosphere that made his work such a dramatic success.

Great page from the poignant death of Leonard McKenzie issue! To my eyes, the art patch in panel one appears to be the work of Ross Andru, who was drawing Subby in Marvel Feature at that point.

Hmmm, I was thinking Severin, too, but I can see the case for Andru. Either way, though, awesome page. There's definitely a whole lot of Colan goodness. Esposito did a great job of inking Colan, which is no easy task. Some inkers just didn't grok what he was trying to accomplish. Great score. Congrats!
