Description

For those long time X-men fans this image may be oddly familiar… Back in the early 2000s before Grant Morrison redesigned the X-men Alex Ross took a shot.. even though his pitch was not chosen Wizard Magazine did a whole feature on the pitch including sketches character write ups etc.. and he even painted a poster for the magazine.. I remember loving these designs when I saw them.. so when I saw this piece available I had to jump! It’s a big piece too- more then 11x17!

Beautiful designs, but less practical. Ross would use these designs with the robes and crosses in the Astro City team of the Crossbreed.

dude i love this!!! GREAT seeing Ross prelims. As much as his beautiful full size paintings impress me (and as much as I may want one) there's just something about his pencils and designs that moves me when I look at it.
