DescriptionThis is a very special art day for me, having received the third of my Bart Sears Crown Jewels. The first is my X-O/ Turok Promo piece, followed by my Dreadstar Kickstarter Cover, and, finally this Demi-God Cover.I had the pleasure of getting to know Bart through friends Randy Elliott and Andy Smith when I lived in Syracuse. We would hang at his studio and watch he and Andy work and shoot the breeze, play nerf football, whatever. These three gentlemen graced me with their artistic presence and we became fast friends. I supported Andy’s Kickstarter for Demi-God and came across Bart’s cover for the series. I was blown away by its design, perspective and execution. Not having read the book, I was drawn to the Covers weirdness and it’s Hero, who’s massiveness and power is accentuated by the look of unbridled bliss on his face. His costume is bussin, to use my Daughter’s favorite phrase. Your eye is drawn into and across the piece, noting very cool details with a seeming simplicity of line work that is quite brilliant. I wanted it, tracked it down to Bart and, after a few months, he said he was ready to put in my hands. This is the third time I am in his debt for allowing me Grail quality art. Thanks Bart! The Sears' style is strong and distinctive in this expansive awe inspiring city spanning work! Sears goes all out to establish this world and its inhabitants. Demi-God's stature is presented bigger than anything in the skyline to show who's the boss of this town.
