Description
Just in time for Halloween comes this great and super creepy cover by Carlos Pacheco.

We have a great xenomorph with an upside-down camera position which really adds to the creepiness of the piece. You reaaaally don't want to look up to any ceiling and discover such an ugly bug.

All the eggs on the ground, the joined fingers and spidery webs/slime also add to the horror of the piece.

You will notice that the slime between the fingers disappeared on the published cover and that some of its teeth were made pointier.

This one could have benefited from some inks to benefit from all the shadows that Carlos spotted but that's the way he's been working for years now.

This is still proof that on top of fantasy and super heroes, he can do moody horror quite well.

It gives off the same uneasy out of control feeling as thoughts of infestation in your house.  The alien is very tightly drawn to bring that insect look during it's climb that may be slow or more quickly than we can imagine.

Somehow Carlos makes the Xenomorph look even more "alien" with this composition.  Very nice!

Didn't know Pacheco did an Aliens cover.  He pulled it off really nicely!

Awesome.  While I agree that a great inker could have put this one over-the-top (or even upside down and over-the-top!) there is absolutely no denying the power and creepiness of this creeping horror.  Great POV and representation of one of the most classic and unmistakable monster designs ever.  A real treat to see Carlos weigh in on the Xenomorph!  Congrats, F M!

A great artist is one who can draw in ALL genres. It certainly would have been nicer as a stand alone piece of art to have the blacks filled in, by Pacheco, no inker needed. In the past, when I was buying "pencils only" work from an artist, I told him I'd buy it even though I really prefer finished art, but I insisted that he'd have to fill in the blacks and not just leave the little X's. Perhaps in the future you can try asking the artist as well!

Ooh, creepy add for sure to commemorate the holiday! Love that upside down perspective, like it's got the drop on you, like so many scenes in the movies. Fun stuff! Yep, inks would've looked nice, but doesn't take away. Congrats!

I wonder why they never tried pesticide in the movies? Or those sonic big repellents that shake their exoskeletons? Kills bugs dead, from what I hear. ;) That is a really tight zenomorph from Pacheco. It's surprising to see him on a horror comic, but as you said, he clearly has the chops. Another tight piece for your collection, FM. Congrats!
