Description
Colossus has ‘Hell’-verine on his knees praying for mercy!

This gorgeous art piece from Guedes/Wilson Magalhaes combo during Aaron’s Wolverine Goes to Hell saga is pure and primal. Wolverine at this point in comics is in hell and the body he left on Earth is inhabited by a demon. He had just attacked Kitty, and Colossus isn’t allowing another second hand to hit her in his primal retaliation to protect his own. He quickly knocks Wolverine down to the ground.

Love the composition of demon-possessed Wolverine, better known at this point as HELLVERINE, on his knees begging for mercy from the stoic colossal Russian, known as Colossus.

I saw this piece, was chasing other pieces, and just had to include it in my bundle of goodies. Now that I’ve procured it, it’s quickly become a new favorite representative pieces of the Wolverine/Colossus brotherhood (see X-Men animated cel and X-Men #110 as more fun examples of their playful nature with each other). They are longtime friends, joining the X-Men at the same time, who have literally been through death and back, and even with situations like this they still come back together.

I’ve enjoyed Aaron’s writing for a long time and great to get another piece of something that came out of his head. I am new to really knowing the work of Guedes, I’ve apparently seen his work for a while as it drove Aaron’s amazing Wolverine work, but nice to get an amazing representative piece from an outstanding saga, featuring two of my favorites.

Great end page!  Don't know this artist, but quite the impressive splash here.  I just love how you can see so much more in looking at the OA than on the published page, which is so horribly colored and dark.

Great perspective on this to accentuate the art and story.

Guedes did some great work on Wolverine. This is a stunning example. Killer splash!
