I have been trying to get a cover from this series forever but finally struck gold on that last drop (for this miniseries at least). I've grown to appreciate David's rendering of Usagi (and Tomoe and Noriyuki here) in a much more realistic fashion than usually seen in Stan Sakai's artwork. The detailwork on the cover is great and you can see the care he put into the small things, like the crosshatching seen in Usagi's garb, as well as the backgrounds. This is a quiet scene that is very different from the other action scene typically represented on a Usagi cover but I like that emotions expressed in this piece.

That ceiling work is impressive carpentry. A fantastical scene from Petersen with his sensibilities and penchant for stunning details.

Great inking technique creates the appropriate texture for all the different surfaces. Nice!

Yeah Petersen's Usagi covers are picked up lightning fast. I have often missed out. I was thinking of try for this one but recent purchases made it not the right time. I love all the work that Petersen puts into these covers. Congrats.

Tried on this and the other covers without luck. Congrats on this. I think this is the best of the 6. It catches the essence of Usagi and the inking details on past with Stan Sakai.

thanks! yes the cover drop being random is so difficult! i tried for all of the other covers and missed out... but at least there will be more usagi covers coming!
