Description

Original 2/3rds splash artwork for Supergirl Vol. 5 #41 (DC, 2009), by the talented Fernando Dagnino (pencils) and Raúl Fernández (inks). Stirring end page for the story, "Who is Superwoman? (Part V of VI) - Daughter of Krypton." This is a very dramatic and emotional climatic end page as a distraught Supergirl (Kara Zor-El) realizes that she just might have slain Superwoman (Lucy Lane) after tearing away her S-emblem from her costume. Supergirl collapses to her knees weeping with profound regret as Superwoman's tattered S-emblem sways listlessly in the gentle breeze, caught on a rocky crag.

Stirring storytelling and outstanding artwork in the great DC tradition.

A definite wow moment to close out the issue. I don't think there is any question to the sincerity of the emotion Dagnino put on the page.
