DescriptionWelcome back to Shemp's Gallery. With the year coming to an end, I thought it would be appropriate to recognize, celebrate and promote the new phenomena that is "The Dueling Dealers of Comic Art."For those who don't know, The Dueling Dealers of Comic Art is a weekly Youtube show on Wednesday night's at 9pm EST. Structured like a prizefight, two Original Comic Art Dealers go head-to-head for 15 rounds, with each offering 15 spectacular new artworks to the market, or artworks that are discounted only during the show. The show was introduced in January of 2021 It is hosted by the owner of CAF, Bill Cox and the dealers are Anthony Snyder of Anthony's Comic Art and Mike Burkey of Romitaman Original Comic Art. There have been guest dealers and there have been collectors who go on the show to sell art. If you collect original artwork, vintage or new, this is a fun and entertaining way to add artwork to your collection. This Monday, December 13th at 9pm EST there is a special Tag Team Royal Rumble match between professional dealers Mike Burkey and Anthony Snyder vs amateur dealers/collectors Dino Mauricio and Jordan Joanou. Both Teams are bringing 24 artworks for sale to this special 12 Round matchup. To see the show, simply click on the Dueling Dealers banner on the right side of your screen, or search "comic art live youtube" in your browser or go here: Comic Art Live Dueling Dealers My second art purchase was from a spin-off of the Dueling Dealers show. "The Amateur Dueling Dealers of Comic Art IV" broadcasted on 6-14-21 which pitted collector Michael Lovitz vs collector Tatiana Dykes. I purchased this from Mr. Lovitz, a Red Star Who's Who entry by Tom Grummett and Al Vey. Red Star had recently joined the New Titans in a revamped lineup. Great piece of art by Grummett and Vey. I have a soft spot for these Who's Who entries. I like them, especially the loose leaf edition pages, as most entries were done by the current artist of the respected characters. If you have any pages from this series I would gladly buy them from you. "Red Star" Who's Who loose leaf edition entry by artist Tom Grummett and Al Vey Social/Sharing |

Well the art starts coming and they don't stop coming
Bill with the rules and I hit the ground claiming
Didn't make sense not to meme for fun
Your portfolio's full but the money there's none
So much to chat, there's cake to eat
So which team is taking the win this week?
You'll never know if you don't go
You'll never shine if you don't glow

"Hey now, you're an all-star, get your game on, go play
Hey now, you're a rock star, get the show on, get paid
And all that glitters is gold
Only shooting stars break the mold"
Marcus you definetly broke the mold!

Red Star is probably my least favourite character from the Grummett New Titans era, but even still, the Grummett/Vey art team makes me WANT to like him! Definitely a great illustration.

"Shaba-da-be-bop! Dee-doodle-reep-dop! Man, these cats can play."
With classic lines like these, how can you not love Red Star?

I remember seeing Tom draw Red Star and immediately thinking Tom would draw a killer Superman. It may have been this illustration too. I mean it is the Soviet version of Superman holding the flag.
