I was tempted, made the same research you did and came to the same conclusion as you regarding DM.
(It's kind of obvious if you know his art ;)
It absolutely looks like his work to me. I figured it was worth a shot & either way it was a cool Green Lantern piece!
The only thing that made me hesitant was that the price didn't go through the roof. I kept expecting to get outbid & when I didn't it made me slightly uncertain. The style jumps out though.
