Description

TRON Background Element of the Exterior of Yori's Apartment (Walt Disney, 1982) by Gary Conklin. Here is a RARE background element from TRON, the ground-breaking film from the creative minds at Disney. Because of the many special effects, Disney decided to shoot TRON completely in 65-mm Super Panavision film. Three designers were brought in to create the look of the computer world. Renowned French comic book artist Jean Giraud (aka Moebius) was the main set and costume designer for the movie. Most of the vehicle designs were created by industrial designer Syd Mead of Blade Runner fame. Peter Lloyd, a high-tech commercial artist, designed the environments. The airbrushed background was based on a design Syd Mead did for the movie.
