In comics, guys with eye patches and goatees are always up to no good. The theory is that they got themselves a Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas as a child, shot their eye out and got revenge on everyone who ever laughed at them for shooting their eye out. The goatee thing is because they can only see enough in the mirror to go some quick beard grooming.

So good! I just love how Raymond indicated the china, hair, drapery, faces, etc. Any square inch of this would be the best inked part of nearly any other artist's page.
